"Neil Armstrong (not the astronaut)!"

I'm a huge fan of the Chicago Bears, and I've followed them for over fifty years. I've suffered through some pretty bad seasons, and celebrated through some really good ones. The best coaches the Bears had, in my opinion were, of course, George Hallas and then, Mike Ditka. These two men captured the essence of what the Chicago Bears were supposed to be. I feel safe in saying that a vast majority of life-long fans would agree with me on the above statement. I also remember men named Neil Armstrong (not the astronaut), Jim Dooley, Abe Gibron and Dave Wanstadt. These men are not too fondly remembered by most of us who "bleed orange and blue". This group was a sorry lot whose efforts at coaching the Bears were, at best, fair and at worst, disastrous. When the Bears scratched out a victory under this group, it was usually in spite of the head coache's ability to lead! Chicago fans are pretty clear when they see a coach who can't seem to get the job done. Every radio show, every television sports show and every sports writer will first, point out every flaw of the current coaching staff and then call on Bears management to "throw the bums out". Chicago Bears fans aren't forgiving when it comes to incompetent coaching and they aren't afraid to say so! Some people say the jury is still out for the current group; most feel the "Lovie Smith Ship" has sailed and he should go the way of Dave Wanstadt. GET RID OF HIM! Sometimes the people speak loudly; he had his chance and he wasn't up to the job.

Recently there was a Gallup Poll about our current Chief Executive, Barack Obama. Unfortunately for Mr. Obama, it seems that America isn't happy with his policies or his job performance. It seems the fans are screaming on the sidelines. The poll indicates that an amazing number of Americans don't think they want Barack Obama in the White House for another term. The poll says 54% of Americans say Obama should be a ONE TERM PRESIDENT! This poll shows a consistent drop of approval of Obama's job performance since he took office in January of 2009. To be honest, Ronald Reagan faced similar poll numbers when he was two years into his first term. Still, Mr. Obama must be aware of this loss of public confidence in his leadership ability. It appears Mr. Obama's far left agenda and his lack of real experience is causing Americans to re-think their choice of 2008. The blatant disregard by his administration to the will of the people seems to be having an impact on America's perception of a second term for Barack Obama. As Lovie Smith seems to be losing the support of Bear's fans, Barack Obama seems to be losing his support from the American people.

Is Barack Obama the "Neil Armstrong (not the astronaut)" of the Presidency? Will "fan pressure" cause Mr. Obama to be fired by "management" in two years? He needs a win desperately, but the opposition looks pretty tough! Does America need a NEW HEAD COACH!
