"Super Hero?"

I ride with the Lone Ranger,
And Tonto by my side,
I fly the skys with Superman,
My conscience is my guide.
I stand for truth and justice,
I try to do what's right.
If ever I see bad guys,
There's gonna be a fight.
My pals are super heroes,
They always fight for good,
They never care for their own gain,
They act like good guys should.
I swing around with Spiderman,
Always fighting crime.
Whenever there is trouble,
I get their just in time.
I search the streets with Batman,
I race around with Flash.
There's never competition,
'Cause good guys never clash.
Whenever there is trouble'
And you are in a jam,
Just call my name,
And I'll be their,
A hero's what I am!
As I look at this poem and it's message I think of America and it's heroism during times of stress and trouble throughout the world I feel a sense of loss in today's world situation. America has lost it's identity as the "Good Guy Leader" in the world forum. Our domestic leaders have become self serving demi-gods, only interested in themselves. When trouble comes be it foreign or domestic, instead of tackling the problem we see finger pointing and name calling. Our elected officials could learn alot from a children's poem, they should be the heroes, not the villains. Mr. Obama has cast himself as a hero, yet his actions certainly don't match his words as he has shown himself to be a partisan politician more interested in his agenda than protecting the American people from financial irresponsibility and foreign threats. I think our current Chief Executive should think about his motives when he make a decision. Did Superman ever consider what he wanted when he went after the bad guys? Come on Mr. President, be a real hero and put yourself last!
