"Worst Anniversary EVER!"

What is the best way to win a football game? Obviously, scoring more points than your opponent is how you win; but what preparations do you take to be able to score all those points? Good teams and smart coaches study their opponents for hours on end, so they may know as much about that team as they do about their own team. Good NFL teams have reel after reel of their opponent’s game films. The head coach, the offensive coordinator, the defensive coordinator and all of the other special teams and line coaches look at every aspect of the other teams play in as many game situations as possible. Teams separate by squads and go to meetings with their coaches and each player watches his prospective match-up for the next game, how he moves, what are his strengths, and what are his weaknesses. Players find out who the “new guys” are so they may gain an advantage, due to his lack of experience. Winners find out as much as they can to get the upper hand from an opponent who may have not studied as much as they did. I am reminded of something an old coach of mine said (pardon my language) “It’s the 5 Ps boys, Poor Preparation makes for Piss Poor Performance!” and he was absolutely right; if you weren’t ready, your enemy would be, and you would get your butt whipped! We must always remember that our opponent is preparing for the same game we are and it’s all about who wants it more!

It has been almost a week since the first Presidential Debate, and since last Wednesday, we have seen quite a few “post game interviews” about that contest. Even though the Democrats have been crying for five days over the opinion that Mitt Romney scored early and often against Barack Obama, the trained eye of anyone who knew the facts, saw their candidate “get schooled” in front of 60,000,000 American viewers. Every time Obama tried to make a point, Romney came back with the one thing Obama wasn’t prepared for, THE TRUTH! When Obama made an accusation, Romney would show it as spurious and foolish. Romney looked Presidential and in control during the entire debate, while Obama looked frustrated, angry and disturbed by his opponent. Romney looked directly at Obama while he spoke, and Obama averted his gaze, staring at the podium like a school boy being “dressed down” by his principal. Romney even used the word SOLYNDRA and Obama was careful to not mention it himself; it was a tremendous “body blow” to the faltering Obama. Obama made a minor point about Romney’s tax plan, but it quickly vanished as Obama paused and stammered when trying to explain his poor economic performance over the last 44 months.

If this had been a football game, Romney could have sent in his “second team” by “half-time” because Obama had already fumbled too many times to recover a victory.

The real question here is this: Does Obama think Romney is so weak that he need not prepare for these debates, or is Barack Obama just an ill-prepared politician caught with his “pants down” by a prepared and well informed Mitt Romney? Of the two men on the stage that night, only one looked like a President, and it wasn’t Barack Hussein Obama!

Obama and his wife left the podium quickly when it was over; I’m not too surprised by that. I wonder what the conversation was like in the Presidential limo as they drove away; I’ll bet this was Obama’s worst wedding anniversary ever!
