"Only Agree With Me!"

Have you ever been chastised for speaking out of turn? Have you ever been exasperated when you weren't allowed to express your opinion? I had certain teachers who had particular viewpoints and they didn't appreciate conflicting opinions from their students. I told my daughter when she was growing up, never to be afraid to stand up for herself; to speak out. I also told her to speak from facts, not opinions. No argument can survive unless it is factual in its content.

When my daughter was in college, she took a class called "The Bible as Literature". As my daughter is a strong believer, she used this opportunity to spread the Gospel. Her teacher didn't appreciate some of her classroom participation; especially, when her statements conflicted with his. Unfortunately for him, my daughter is well versed in the study of the bible; probably more qualified than he. At one point, he told her not to speak anymore. Sometimes authority exerts censorship.

Recently, leftist bloviator, Ed Schultz of MSNBC, had Al Sharpton on his program. The subject of conversation was Rush Limbaugh. This was an "all you can eat" diatribe against the radio icon. The usual leftist rant was foremost in the dialogue; racism! Every time the left launches an attack, it starts with this spurious charge. Sharpton claims Limbaugh is a racist at every occasion; he claims Limbaugh is divisive, yet, was it not Sharpton who accused Glenn Beck of hi-jacking "our day" last August. By "our day" does he mean a day that is limited to certain Americans and not others? That seems to be divisive to me! The quotes from Limbaugh's show were talking about "reparations" to former slave families. The generation that owned slaves, has long since died away. The current programs provided to all minorities are more than adequate to give aid to all who need it.

Sharpton wants the FCC to refuse Limbaugh the right to speak over public air waves. Old Al doesn't like what Rush is saying on the radio. I've listened to Rush Limbaugh for a number of years, and I can understand why Al doesn't like him. He and Rush are polar opposites politically. The extreme liberal doesn't want America to hear any conflicting opinions from the conservatives in the media. The charge of racism is a joke, but it always gets attention. I'm sure if Mr. Sharpton could have his way, not only would Mr. Limbaugh be banned, but also Beck, Hannity, Mike Reagan and every other conservative on planet earth.

Sorry Rev.: that First Amendment is for everybody. As long as Joy Behar, Bill Maher, Ed Schultz and the rest of the leftist fanatics have a piece of the air waves, Rush can have his piece too! Free speech is a two way street Al, deal with it!
